Women Construction Workers

A total of 117 world leaders attended the United Nations World Summit for Social Development, held in Copenhagen, Denmark in March, 1995. In the summit discussion, it came up that women make up nearly 70 percent of the world's poor and 65 percent of the world's illiterates. The UN Secretary- General Boutros-Boutros-Ghali underlined the gravity of the problems of women when he said, "At the summit, there is no single group which illustrates the three themes of this conference better than women.
